How to Get Involved

There are four levels of membership: Scientist, Fellow, Adjunct Scientist and Organizational member.

Scientist

Centre Scientists are selected for their research excellence and commitment to advancing midwifery research and are expected to participate fully in MMRC activities. If you are interested in becoming a Centre Scientist, please contact the Scientific Director, Beth Murray-Davis, at bmurray@mcmaster.ca.

Fellow

The purpose of MMRC fellowships is to support and mentor individuals undertaking midwifery research who are not principal investigators. Fellows will participate in research that is consistent with the Centre’s mission and vision including improving maternal child outcomes, advocating for health service provision for families and newborns, and advancing health professional education. If you are interested in becoming a Centre Fellow, please contact the Research Manager, Rashid Ahmed, at rashid@mcmaster.ca for an application package.

Adjunct Scientist

The purpose of MMRC adjunct scientist membership is to support and/or mentor individuals, who may be based outside of the university or those who are involved with MMRC Scientists, but whose primary role is not midwifery research. If you are interested in becoming a Centre Adjunct Scientist, please contact the Research Manager, Rashid Ahmed, at rashid@mcmaster.ca for an application package.

Organizational Member

This category of membership is eligible to those organizations engaged in midwifery research that are aligned with the mission and vision of the MMRC and who are able to provide support to one or more projects through personnel and/or in kind resources. If your organization is interested in becoming an organizational member, please contact the Research Manager, Rashid Ahmed, at rashid@mcmaster.ca for an application package.
